Voluntary Society - Concept - Self Interest

Imagine Living Things Without Self-Interest - They Would Die

The individuals in a voluntary society understand that self interest is the inherent motivator of all living things. It cannot be bred, led or indoctrinated away. It is the natural order of things.

The self interest of life is procreation for with death and without procreation, there would be no life. In order to procreate, they must sustain themselves by predation or cooperation long enough to procreate, and they must protect their property by increasing the cost of predation on them relative to cooperation with them.

The self interest of traders is to specialize in order to produce in excess, and trade that excess for the excess production of others in order to acquire tools to further increase productivity in order to acquire sustenance, shelter and to attract the best mate, procreate and assure the viability of the progeny through reproduction.

Private Business Government Institution
The self interest of property insurance companies is peace. The self interest of national governments, "defense" contractors and central banks is war, its threat, and anything that will invoke either to provoke the demand for more government and its false security, funding for defense contractors and more debt.
The self interest of property insurance companies is crime deterrence to preserve insured property value. The self interest of state and local governments is crime and dependence, their threat, and anything that will provoke a demand for more government.
The self interest of medical insurance companies is client health and independence.
The self interest of insurance companies is to contract with the best inspection companies to determine the value of the property insured, and how best to maintain that value; to contract with the best firefighting company and the best private security firm to protect the property from damage force or fraud to minimize losses.
The self interest of firefighting companies is to maintain cooperative agreements with other such companies in order to contend with regional fires. The self interest of firefighting agencies is protecting themselves and their employers: bureaucrats and politicians.
The self interest of security companies is to maintain cooperative agreements with other such companies in order to contend with governments and other gangs. The self interest of police is protecting themselves and their employers: bureaucrats and politicians.
The self interest of everyone else is to please their customers. The self interest of politicians, bureaucrats and other government employees is to stay employed. Poor customer service, fraud, petty theft, incompetence, indolence and irresponsibility will not cause the dismissal of government employees. Moved perhaps, reprimanded perhaps, but not fired or demoted, and often promoted. It's a safe place to "work." Thanks to government unions and their politicians, the pay and benefits exceed that of non-government employees.
